No sooner had I landed back in NorCal and it was time to taste Californian dirt again. Just a cheeky cobweb blaster around Annadel with Aaron and (Bike Monkey magazine's) Nick Gaetano. My nine thousand calorie-a-day Christmas diet soon took effect however. Stitch kicking in almost immediately as my chocolate lined arteries struggled to pump blood to my diaphragm. Still, we had a great ride. The familiar trails (and some new ones shown, courtesy of Nick) were muddy, but beautiful, bathed in winter's golden light.
